Psychology derives from the two Greek words being “psyche” meaning (mind, soul, spirit) and “logos” (knowledge, discourse or study). Taken from this, psychology literally means the study of the mind and behaviour. The discipline itself covers almost every aspect of human action and interaction giving you a diverse and interesting breadth to your studies. Psychology can be applied to a wide variety of situations; from profiling terrorists, informing government papers on health and social issues, to popular television programmes such as Big Brother. We are currently seeking British Psychological Society accreditation for this new single honours programme as an extension of the expertise in psychology already present across the University.

This course provides a flexible work-based learning programme, enabling students to become competent as an Assistant Practitioner in either Radiotherapy or Diagnostic Radiography.

In order to undertake the programme, potential students must be employed as a Trainee Assistant Practitioner (or equivalent) and have the support of the employing authority.
