Master Degree Psychology from Bryan College

This theme verse highlights our Psychology Department’s assumption that God’s Word provides the framework for our view of personal pain. We actively integrate our Christian faith into the practical, theoretical, and applied areas of psychology.

Practical integration of scripture and psychology is of highest importance in the Psychology major. What do Sigmund Freud, Carl Rogers, B.F. Skinner, and Carl Jung have to do with a Christian understanding of human mental and emotional processes? What counseling models and approaches are proper for the Christian counselor? You’ll tackle and answer these and many other relevant questions in your four years as a psychology major.

Pre-Medical from Bryan College

Bryan College has prepared students to enter the health professions for many years. About one-half of them have chosen to apply to M.D. programs, but others have opted for programs in Osteopathic Medicine or Physicians Assistant. Fewer have chosen professions in Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Chiropractics, Optometry, Dentistry, and research.

We also offer with Vanderbilt University a “3 + 2 Bridge Program” that leads to an M.S. in Nursing. After the fourth year (the first year at Vanderbilt), students transfer 30 credit hours to Bryan and receive a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Bryan College. At the completion of the fifth year, students receive a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in one of twelve nursing specialties.

Department of Exercise & Health Science from Bryan College

The Department of Exercise & Health Science a) provides the content knowledge and skills to assist prospective physical education, health, and sport professionals in preparing for careers in fitness, teaching K-12 PE, and other health and wellness-related professions, and b) supports the institutional demands for health and personal development.

The department offers two options: the Exercise & Health Science “Foundation” option and the Exercise & Health Science Physical Education K-12 “Licensure” option. Both of these programs assist in preparing students to become competent professionals in a variety of health, fitness, and sports professions. In some cases, additional certification is required before a graduate can begin his or her professional career, but Bryan’s Exercise & Health Science programs assist in preparing students to take and pass those certification exams.
